jacko45k
This is ridiculous, if he took this picture during his vacation time and when he was off-duty then why is it such a problem? It depends who paid for the trip and his expenses. The same could have been said of the Secret Service in Columbia. I am of the belief that those in public office should be held to higher moral standards.
PoodMaiDai
Those photos are outside one of the ladyboy cabaret shows. You know, the ones tour companies try to get you to go see when you're a tourist. They pose with the people who just saw the show. He wasn't "partying" with them. I didn't think anyone could every out-dumb Thailand but.... eh.... no, they still can't. Never mind.

khaowong1
Would appear that China is not too tolerant of the LBGT culture. Still, this is an odd story. If he performed his duties during the day, and has a photo taken with some lady boys at night, not really sure that is a firing offense... My guess he was just having fun, and needed a photo to show his buddy's back home what these goofy brown skin people down south were up to. Locationthailand
So he is either partying in their company (good for him), curious or wants to jump the fence and take a walk on the wild side. Who really gives a toss? Typical paranoid Chinese. This is not even news worthy if you take a walk down Pattaya into places like Boyz Town. Tywais
Following up on my "Lost in Thailand" post, I've found the reason for the indiscretion. He was looking for this actress for an autograph. Another hit from this film is a Thai transsexual actress called Rose. Chinese audiences are most surprised to find out that the pretty young lady speaking Chinese Beijing dialect in the film is actually one of the top 10 transsexual queens. She only appears for 1 minute in the film with just one line. However, she is the most searched figure of the whole film cast afterwards. Certainly looks like he was with a group of ladyboys having a good time (partying) even if he was only groping a breast and living it up for a short time. Sometimes the excuses people make to show superiority over Thais or Thailand do not but serve to do the opposite.
Loptr
Come on, give the guy a break He is obviously having a good time Unfortunately for him, this is probably the last time he is on 'official business'.... Still not as good as the Chinese official that went ballistic in the airport after missing two flights in the same day.
oldsailor35
How could they tell they were ladyboys? How do you normally know if its a ladyboy? Q: Are you a Ladyboy? A: Yes A2: Oh my god you look better than a "real" lady!!!! Real ladies are ok, but you can't beat the real thing !
kimamey
To be honest, i really dont see a problem here. If this is what he likes who has the right to tell him hes in the wrong?? I think it's more to do with who's paying for it especially since his family appear to have been on the trip as well. It's not unusual for there to be rules on behaviour when on a trip which isn't your own, such as for a government or company. There's nothing to stop him paying for his family and mates to come here if he wants. It may also be that the Chinese authorities aren't so keen on ladyboys and I'm pretty sure they will feel they have the right to tell him he's in the wrong

MikeOboe57
Killing a Chicken to Frighten the Monkeys. As not all low ranking party officials can advance to higher rank, those who are less well connected will be severely reprimanded for their transgressions. So the Party can show to the common folk how determined they are to root out bad eggs. It also serves as a reminder to the other party officials that they are only mere mortals. Well, at least up to a certain level in the hierarchy. If you pull a stunt like that you have to be sure that your buttocks are adequately covered by the higher echelons. Otherwise you are up that proverbial creek without a paddle.

yoshiwara
CCCP officials taking kickbacks from property developers is a serious problem in Mainland China. Someone will have noted his official position, his official salary and the possible cost of such a trip, not to mention whether it was booked out as leave.

Intoning the revolutionary leadership of the working class while village members can view him whooping it up with either LBs or other attractions of Thailand, not quite the image he will have been selling back home. He will be slammed for bringing his position into disrepute. Whether you think that is right or not irrelevant though no doubt you could write a supporting letter to the regional leadership of the local CCCP.

Could it be the use of public funds for personal enjoyment is a crime in China. It is not in Thailand? Of course it is not a crime in Thailand. When was the last time we heard about an official being convicted and jailed for stealing funds, corruption, drugs, gun crimes, etc? How many years has it BEEN? Thailand had essentially given up on corruption crimes against officials. Given up. Thrown in the towel. No punch left, no fight left. Surrendered the battle. Period. 100 percent tolerance.
