Hello,

I wonder if some of you could be so kind to help me with a couple of questions about visa. I'm here in Thailand on a tourist visa which is about to expire and i need of course a new one. As everyone else i wonder how to get a new one in the best possible way. What is the difference about going to the border and going to visit a thai embassy. Can i go to the border? or do i have to go to a Thai embassy?. I would like to have 3 months visa and the immigration office here in Bankok say that i need to visit an embassy. I wonder if some of you could explain the difference in a simple way to me :o.

If you simply go to the border, you'll get just a 30 day visa.

If you don't want to get a 30 day visa "on arrival" you can apply for a Tourist Visa at Thai embassies or consulates abroad and give you sixty days on arrival. You can apply for an extension at a Thai immigration bureau once in Thailand and will normally be given 30 days extra.
