EGAT will continue to be a public company limited, despite the decision by the Supreme Administrative court.

Executives of the EGAT Public Company prepares three measures for the decision of the Supreme Administrative Court, if it orders the company not to distribute shares in the Stock Exchange of Thailand, while insisting that the company will be a public company limited.

Managing director of EGAT, Kraisri Kannasut (ไกรสีห์ กรรณสูต) said that although EGAT cannot distribute shares in the Stock Exchange of Thailand in the future, EGAT will still be managed under the company limited, as the format is more convenient than state enterprise.

Mr. Kraisri added that EGAT has prepared three measures waiting for the Supreme Administrative Court’s order on distribution of shares. He said that if the company’s shares cannot be distributed, EGAT will continue with construction of power plants by using the existing capital, while delaying plans to build power plants abroad.
