01/05/2013 is Labor day.HOLIDAY.

May 1 st is marked in red on my calendar, I suspect Samui Immigration and other government offices will be closed, probably banks too!

I see that Monday May 6th and Friday 24th are also red letter days... lots of holidays! wink.png

May 1st is a bank holiday not a government holiday.

Immigrations will be open but not the banks.

So the Bank of Khun Nok will be open, wink.png I guess my suspicions were wrong....rolleyes.gif Be interesting to know if anyone goes there today... and can say!

Anyone know about the red letter days of the 6th and 24th May? (who's open and who's not ? )

Coronation Day is the 5th - public holiday on the 6th and the 24th May is Visakabucha Day - Buddhist public holiday.

I do not know about others - but I am open and working Jimmy thumbsup.gif

Found this site though

http://www.thailandteaching.asia/social-public-events-calender/17065-2013-official-thai-government-holidays.html

It reads.........

Once again, it’s time for the official list of Thai government holidays (ันหยุดประจำปี) for 2013. Please understand that:

1.This list does not include holidays like Chinese New Year, Loy

Krathong, etc. This list is only for holidays in which government

offices (and government schools) will be closed.

2. As per #1, keep in mind that any visa, work permit, or TCT business

you need to handle has to be done before or after the holidays. This

includes 90 day reporting (and the fine for that has recently been

raised to 5000 baht).

3. Foreign embassies and consulates will also be closed on these days.

4. This list is up to date as of 4 December 2012 and is subject to change without notice. TIT!

Banks in shopping centers are open.

That's what I thought Bangkok Bank in both Big C and Tesco Chaweng closed ....along with most of their machines , atms etc not working ..

Why is it that Bangkok Bank has so few atm's and branches .... I think there is only 1 ATM in Nathon & no ATM Tesco Lamai .
