Thinking Of Starting A Tour Operation. Any Advice?

Featured Replies

i love this place http://www.watphasornkaew.org/

i think its one of the most amazing places to visit in Thailand and is almost totally unknown

my wife is thinking about starting a tour from bangkok to see the wat. because of the distance, it would probably be a 2 day tour so would include minibus trip, night in hotel and maybe some food

she would use a guy who already has a minibus so nothing to buy there, just spend some money on advertising to get the tour started and then book the bus and hotels, etc.

so does anyone know about running tours like this? she would probably target farangs mostly (via khao san road agents) since thais will probably be able to make the trip independently

i assume she will need some kind of tour insurance, maybe some kind of license?

anyone know?

thx steve

Wonder what mushrooms those monks ate when building this biggrin.png

she will need a tour guide licence for sure But, to promote it you will need to pay money under the table so the tour agencies (so called) will handle your bookings

I would say to be able to make tours you first of all need a good historic background, you cant just bring people and then say there you go. Service is everything and it means hard work. Well good luck you the tour business I hope all the best :D

Looks like a great spot.

Its all about advertising and sucking up to agents to book you.
