You are new so I will help you with your search. You should have found this, Cost Of Living 2011 Cr. As a rule people don't like to get too specific when discussing money as it leaves them vulnerable. Asking "how much" is like asking "how high is high".

I understand there are many blogs and websites claiming to give you definitive numbers on how much it costs to live in Thailand, but all they can tell you is how much it costs them. Your situation will be different.

As I mention in the other thread, set your own budget based on what you can afford. From there you can add and subtract expenses to keep you close to that number, whatever it might be. Good luck.

edit: You may be able to pick up some ideas from this Chiang Mai thread.

Everyone has a different level of spending here . Some people I know spend in excess of 100,000 bht per month , while others on the lower incomes can just about survive here on 15,000 bht per month .

A typical house rental in the city will cost between 5 - 8,000 for a 2 bedroom, some with furiniture in the price. Electricity bills if you have and use Air-Con , Tv, fridge etc will be about 1-3000 bht per month .

Food , if you eat Thai food all the time , then you can eat for about 100 bht per day , 3000 bht per month .

The majority of people living in the Rai are of retirement age and get pensions or have brought enough money with them to maintain their lifestyle

they are used to.

I think to live simply but not to excess you will need a minimum of 15-20,000 bht
