I re-entered the country in November last year and after 90 days reported in as usual. I received my confirmation slip back and noted the date on my calendar as usual. But now I just cannot find the original slip.

When I next report in at the end of April, I can send a covering letter giving them the date, but do immigration keep copies of the info I send them every 90 days or are they going to think I didn't report last time?

Any ideas of what to do to cover myself?

Yes, they'll have your data. The TM 47 is in two parts, both with same dates written and stamped. They'll keep the upper part and return you the lower part, which merely serves as a reciept (and a reminder).
