May 11, 201313 yr Apologies if this is not the right section, couldn't see anything else that relates though, so anyways... Doing the condo thing in Sukhumvit, and would love to get a little practice amp that sounds great but won't blow the neighbours away. These new Yamaha amps look the business, was wondering if anyone has spied them in Bangkok? Or any other practice amps about you'd recommend? Haven't played for years so looking forward to getting back into it. Failing that, any Yamaha instrument dealers in Bangkok you would recommend? I think these amps are too recent, I'll have to buy a new one I suppose.
May 11, 201313 yr I don't know the Yamaha but look also at Marshall, Peavey and Laney. You might want to buy one with a cd player input. FX controls are also useful unless you are using pedals.
May 11, 201313 yr Author Thanks Morden, there are some nice little practice amps out there, but that Yamaha has really got my interest. They offer a couple of models actually, but I'm thinking the THR10 model might be the go fro me. Link below to their minisite:- http://au.yamaha.com/en/products/musical-instruments/guitars-basses/amps/thr_home/ Nice compact little amps, would love to try one out.
May 11, 201313 yr Plug "THR10" into google and select "webpages from Thailand" under advanced options, brings up a lot of hits. I followed one to Weloveshopping.com, but all in Thai. Maybe OK if you have a translator available. Another option I seem to recall is a musical instrument store or two in Fortune Town (MRT Rama 9). Though for sure Amorn electronics on level 4 of this complex have some equipment. Cheers
May 11, 201313 yr Author Thanks Litlos, will look into it when I get back in Bangkok round the end of the month or so
May 11, 201313 yr Vox Mini 3 EVERY TIME! It has a headphone out and is based on Korg technology. It has a surprisingly large punch but sounds the same turned right down. B3,500 from Music Concepts on the 3rd floor of CentralWorld. My friend, who is the resident guitarist in a well known blues bar has one (bought because he loved mine so much) and he uses it at home in place of his AC30 which is just too loud for his apartment.
May 11, 201313 yr Author Vox Mini 3, very interesting, thanks for the tip drafty. Will check one out when I'm back, CentralWorld level 3, tah mate!
