I'm staying in BKK. I thought it would be easy to find the answer to this common question I'm sure, but after 30 minutes of sifting through topics and repeated website "oops we have a problem" errors, I thought I would pose the question.

Do I have to leave Thailand and re-enter? Is Cambodia the quickest and cheapest option? I heard there is a bus service now. This obviously sounds safer than the dangerous van service. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You must leave the country - enter another - return to get a new 60 day entry if you have more allowed entries on your visa. Cambodia is closest if going by land but there is scheduled service for about 2,000 baht all inclusive that mostly uses vans so you have to ask about specific day if using bus. Believe the bus service you have heard about is direct bus to Phnom Penh which is not want you want.
