Nakonamath
Hi, We have a 2007 Suzuki APV 1.6L We where getting ready to sell it as we need a pickup, then 1 day the engine start knocking, we took it to Suzuki dealer and they said it was irreparable in there workshop, it was not just valve adjustment, they adjusted the valves and the sounds topped, but they claimed it would come back after 2 week, which it did, exactly 2 week later the knocking sound is back. I read on the subject, and it might be something called valve seat recession, which basically is damage to the valve seat due to, too high head in the valves because of use of LPG, and no lubrication. So my question is, are there anyone with knowledge about this subject, who have had similar problem and got it repaired, or know who to contact. BKK, Chonburi, Pattaya. I am not brave enough just to take it to local repair guy and let them fool around with it, i want to have a professional repair, as we are going to sell the car without problems !! Thanks Jack
transam
Usually a knock from valve gear is caused by a lobe on the camshaft wearing away. Any hoooooooooo, head off to investigate. If seat knackered then head goes to machine shop to have a replacement seat installed. If camshaft, a new one.

Lack of equipment is the problem. All my gear is back in Oz and it's expensive bringing it over. But I am buying more as I go and leaving the Oz gear for the kids! transam
My old grey cells just told me, depending on the valve gear set up, that a valve working itself into the head actually closes up the tappet gap.

Id get my Gray Cells Metal Sprayed, and re ground then.!! Skim a Head and you get a Valve Bound situation.

Local shop, in Baan bansuan, chonburi province, dirty little place, but they did a good job, my wifes cousin recommended this place as he had experience with them, their shop is not a place you would stop and ask on your own, though :-) the engine block was send to a specialized shop, but where i dont know. a shop 500m from there quoted us 14.
