A Naive Leader Transformed By Her Impatient Brother: Thai Opinion

"What? Where do you get the idea that Erin Brockovic was a prostitute?"

Wrong movie! Julia Roberts played Erin Brockovitch in the fairly mediocre film of the same name. The real life Erin was a legal secretary, then a para-legal. Could you possibly be thinking of "Pretty Woman", in which JR did play a 'working girl', hired as a temp escort by Richard Gere?

In any case, comparing any of these fictional creations to the current Prime Minister of Thailand is disrespectful, to say the least, but perfectly consistent with daily policy of 'The Nation', English language house organ of the Yellow Shirts.

She's much more attractive than Rene Zellwegger and Julia Roberts, too. And way smarter than most of you haters.

Actually, it was a cartoonist at Thai Rath that said she was "worse than a prostitute, who sell themselves. She's selling the country". Nothing to do with The Nation.

Pity that she is undermined and set up by her criminal brother who since we are discussing movies reminds us that he has all the charm of Rod Steiger in Al Capone. He was smart but that didn't prevent him from being banged up for now lets us remember financial cheating.

I just don't get this nonsense as she has not been transformed in the least, she's still naive, still a puppet. Of course she was sane when she read the speech in Mongolia but probably didn't understand a word or the implications and to tell her brother to wait, don't make me laugh.

Where else but Thailand would you get a call for the supposed national leader to go back to her old giggling self ?

I'd love to be a fly on the cabinet office wall when she Skyped Mr.T and told him to be patient as all good things come etc. I think she would be reminded in short order that they have already been told what the only priority is so get on with it. That's the polite version of course.
The Bring Back Thaksin theme is heating up because Pheu Thai only has 2 more years to accomplish this monumental task. Time is running out and Thaksin is letting everybody know.

I also fear time is running out,but only as long as you believe there will be an alternative Government in two years time? my worst nightmare for Thailand is: people in all probability, will not wise up in the next 2 years,so expect more of the same ****! And even more to fear,is what PTP is doing in the open and in public, is an illusion, capable of producing Illegal Passports for Crooks, while giving the impression Amnesty and Charter rewrites to pardon the leader have been permanently shelved! which is highly unlikely, the driving force will make sure of that, the de facto leader, will never give up,....in his lifetime.

Al Capone finally got busted for Tax Evasion. Given that Thaksin evaded 40% Tax on the Shin Corp AIS deal to Singapore, the comparison is most appropiate, and due to the fact he changed the law in his favour three weeks before the deal was finalised, which meant the Tax was wavered, and the Thai people lost Billions of Dollars,at his hands(once again) so let's forget about Baht that was peanuts!

However not smart enough to realize that she lacks any qualification for the PM job.

Another chorus of "We hate Thaksin Because We hate Thaksin!" Oy!

...as opposed to making half-hearted efforts to defend a leech sucking blood from his sister.
