Plodprasob To Set Outlines For Constructing Biomass Power Plant

I know China is the worlds biggest polutor. But they also spend the most money on seeking alternatives. Thailand might do well to look at some of there ideas.

I recall seeing a specal on the progress in china. They had developed a method of proccesing waste material one family could do and supply them selves with enough electricity for cooking and some light in there house, It had alittle bit ecxtra. The same program showed a brewery being run with electricity produced by the fellows dairy cows.

this was several years ago and possibly could have been a little over promoted.

But the fact remains China is spending money on research and actually doing things to help stop the air pollution. Even though they are the biggest in the world in polluting. Understandable with a population of over 1,300,000,000 people. It would not hurt Thailand to look at some of the progress China has made.

Stayed at a remote place many years ago that had its own small hydro plant that supplied a resort.

Very simple and effective, all it consisted of was a small dam on a stream up a hill with a pipe running from it down the hill to a water wheel that turned a generator.

This ran for years without problems the only attention needed was for the bearings to be kept greased.

I am sure this would work in plenty of situations in Thailand, one that comes to mind is Kiri Wong which would be perfect for such a small plant with any surplus fed into the national grid.

This could be done without great expense, flooding of land and without the environmental damage that big dams cause on major rivers.

A series of these small plants anywhere suitable round the country would take pressure off supply and probably alleviation the need for other options.

Sure they burn more energie for carrying biomass to the power plant than they get out. Biomass is the right way for sugar factories and anything else, where the biomass is already. There must be a lot of small power plants everywhere, not this stupid giant projects, only good for make money, thats P's duty...
