New Tourist Safety Center to open in South Pattaya

meeting-2.jpg

PATTAYA: -- On Monday afternoon at Pattaya Police Station a meeting was held to discuss plans to open a Tourist Safety Center on Pattaya Beach close to the entrance to Walking Street.

Khun Komsan, the Governor of Chonburi Province, discussed the plans to open the center with various Police Divisions, including Pattaya’s Tourist Police, who are expected to be responsible for the Center and its day-to-day operation.

The location of the new center is at the old pier in front of the Public Toilets and in front of the Northern entrance to Walking Street. Marine Police and Pattaya Sea Rescue will be stationed at the pier to ensure a quick response to emergencies.

Thai Police, known worldwide as a criminal organization looking after tourist safety?

Funny.

Are they going to have some more tourist police hanging about who are about as useful as a chocolate teapot??

“Tourist Safety Center” in Pattaya, and in “Phuket Tourist Safety Zones”, may make Thailand sound like a dangorus place to visit – perhabs inside the so-called safety areas, remember reading about some tourist in troubles there just after the Phuket Zone opened – oh, forgot: Amazing Thailand.

Only day to day running?? mmmmmmmmmmm evening /night???

first place a holiday maker heads for when you arrive in pattiya,,,,im sure,,

Another location for police to side with local criminal gangs and squeeze even more baht out of tourists.

Foxes running the hen house.

...it has to be open...manned...and have people that will actually respond to calls...treating them like crimes or emergencies...

....otherwise, it will only serve as decoration.....

(....I read that previously so many crimes had occurred in plain sight of one police box or another...with no effect whatsoever...)

I wonder if they will provide a pamphlet about the 2 gun-wielding Aussies who shot a couple of guys and are now out on a suspended sentence? Tourist safety is a priority in Thailand, but daylight assassination in a public place with a firearm is under a different category.

This is a PR campaign run by the same folks that bring you the jet ski scam.

Will they provide lifebelts for the next time it rains in Pattaya and Beach road floods?

There can only be one reaction to this announcement
