Hello, tried to search for this answer but didn't find it. I have a retirement visa, with a multiple-entry reentry stamp. What happens if I get a new passport abroad when I return to Thailand ? Do I just show the old passport with its "permission to stay" and re-entry stamps ? Will the airport Immigration give the same permission-to-stay date ?

You need to get your visa transferred into your new passport at your local Thai embassy! Easier to apply for a new passport at your embassy in Bangkok and go to your local immigration and get them to do it before you leave Thailand:-)

Show nboth old and new passport at the airport and immirgaiton will take care of it. They might require you to go to your immigration office for the transfer of all the details.

as above; (MKTL is wrong)

note they will only transfer ur extension and entry permit at the immigration where it was issued!!! Embassy will not transfer ur extension stamp

BUT you can always just use both passports,

when u enter Thailand show them your old passport an give them your new one, they will stamp you in on your new passport

I did this last time, ( my latest passport was issued in Cambodia) and as my extension was issued in Phuket went to Laos and Cambodia using both passports with no problem.
