American Indpendence Day July 6 2013 - K I S

Featured Replies

Saw someone asking about this a while back, figured best start its own thread for it this year.

This year's July Picnic will be held at KIS International School on Saturday, July 6th from 12.00 noon - 8.00 pm. The Independence Day
Committee has a great day planned with lots of American food and drink, music and activities, and a chili-cook-off.

We need your support to make this community event special. If you can help us in any of three ways:

-Be a Star for your favorite State on our U.S. Flag. Baht 10,000 donation. In addition to recognition before, during, and after the event, donors receive 10 complimentary entrance tickets to the picnic. To be a Star, contact Kittie at [email protected]

-Provide goodie GIVEAWAYS or a RAFFLE PRIZE for the Charity booth and raffle. All proceeds from these events go directly to the AMCHAM Thailand Foundation to support our scholarship and Adopt-a-School programs.

- Volunteer to help sell entrance, food & beverage

Tickets baht 200 (advance) or baht 300 (door). Children under 12 free! ADVANCE TICKETS WILL BE AVAILBLE AT AMCHAM OR MAJOR AMCHAM EVENTS.

thanks to Thaivisa sponsor Sunrise Tacos for the info!

Troll post removed. My apologies for having to remove other members reply to it.

Looks like great fun. Thanks for posting.

I attended a July 4th celebration in Jakarta at the American School, musta been around 1993-94 and it was great fun, mostly fer the kids...bbq hotdogs and burgers and a lot of laying around with cans of Bintang beer...that was when the military strongman Suharto was in power who always insured that a stable, secular state was in place...

these days with western democracy they wouldn't dare as the islamists would shut the place down...

I always really liked Indonesia...but multiculturalism is not in the extremist muslim vocabulary...and I am truly afraid that there will be an islamist revolution in Indonesia within my lifetime...
