Yes, 20 years ago. Still together. Met more or less by accident. I was on my way to the airport to pick up a friend and actually was way ahead of schedule. Stopped to have a coffee and met this nice young man. Been together ever since.

He worked in the bar but I took him away from that life and he is now with me.

I live in Bangkok but visit Chiang Mai a few times per year and have some good friends who live there. I do think it is more of a challenge to find local guys there who are open to a relationship - not impossible, just a much smaller number of possibilities. Also, since most of the Thai men in the CM area tend to still live with their family - I think they tend to be more closeted and not as interested in a committed gay relationship.

I had been retired for 10 years when we met, 10 years ago (I retired rather early). Now neither of us work and we have joint accounts.

We both put in 100% of what we each had into the relationship, heart, soul and wallet, and either of us could walk away tomorrow with everything we both have. Life's short.
