The guy on the right was the tout for the hotel, he told me it would be 20,000 kip, the tuk tuk wanted 30,000 kip. Some things never change eh?

My son is learning Chinese in school, and hoping to be an exchange student in China. I'm hoping his Brit passport will get him a job working for the Chinese government in the UK or Thailand. China is a lovely country with great, peaceful and happy people. Unlike the UK which only seems to have unhappy people and stabby invaders. Off topic, If Hitler had won the war, I'm thinking Europe would be a much better place to live today. Let's face it, it couldn't be worse!

I lived in Thailand for a couple years and it took me a couple years to recover and actually became more sociable than previously before spending time in Asia. As an antisocial person, being away from home and around other just as socially awkward people makes you feel more at home but its just a crutch. If you stay too long you won't be able to reacclimate to the west, and essentially you've already burned you bridge. The fact you kept property back home doesn't matter as your mind is too far g
