Jai Dee Posted March 31, 2006 Share Posted March 31, 2006 THAI orders the inspection of the qualifications of board member to prevent the conflicts of benefits Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) has ordered for the investigation of the board members' qualifications to prevent the conflicts of interest, following the allegation against Mr. Olarn Chaiprawat (โอฬาร ไชยประวัติ). Interim President of THAI Airways International Somjainuek Engtrakul (สมใจนึก เองตระกูล) said that the commission has assigned the secretary of the commission, Mr. Thammasak Chuwong (ธรรมศักดิ์ ชุวงศ์), to investigate the qualification of every board member, especially matters related to the conflicts of the interest. Such assignment was made after the allegation has been made against Mr. Olarn, one of the THAI’s board members and also the vice chairman of the committee of Shin Corp Plc. He revealed that Mr. Olarn holds 50 percent of the shares in Asia Aviation Company. He said the result of the investigation will be submitted to the meeting, and the result will be used for considering the appropriateness of those holding the board member positions.
