Extension of stay in Thailand

Featured Replies

I am a Singaporean currently in Thailand now. I am on visa exemption for 30 days which will be ending 2 wks later. I would like to stay for about 2-3 more wks in Thailand, so how can I get an extension? Can I just leave the country to Laos and re enter again? Or can I just get an extension from in bangkok?

You cannot get an extension, simply leave and fly back in will give you another 30 days. Or get a tourist visa in a neighboring country good for 60 days.

If you just go to a land border and return by land you will get 15 days.

Hey thanks for the quick reply man. By when do I need to get the extension by if I intend to travel to Laos by train? Lets say my visa exemption ends on 2nd July, when's the last day I should get the extension by? Can I travel to Laos on 1 July and come back on 2 July for an extension? And what kind of documents do I need with me? Do I need a return ticket?

Mario made it clear ---------there is no extension !

So leave ---------come back by air ------you get another 30 days

Come back overland -------get 15 days

Want more time ?

Get a tourist visa from a nearby country ------------- it will give you 60 days !
