Maybe many of there new super cheap Datsun's will be made in Russia as well as South Africa, India and Indonesia ? also reports that the new Datsun will be the cheapest car in Thailand by 2015. !! ?

Find it odd that the Fiat 124 was renown for unreliability and rust, form about 1966 to 1976 [think] yet built as a Lada it is reliable car ?? How so ?

From what I was told many of the Fiats and Lancia Betas of the same time sat about in field storage for a long time prior to sale. Many of them would have failed an MOT on rust underneath the underseal , applied just before sale, on the day they were sold, Metal was very thin as well.

I used to have a 1968 Fiat 125 Special back in 1974 while I was in Germany.

Mechanically superb, inside both functional and comfortable.

Outside the paint on the wings was far thicker than the bodywork.

I had one with a sunroof, no joke!

On account of my height.

I also knew a mechanic who fitted a 2.0i Toyota engine in the back of one of these.
