Quite what anyone would be doing there of their own free will is beyond me. Port Moresby was rated one of the worlds least livable cities. RIP the Chinese, who as traders settling just about anywhere are hard working and law abiding, their success sadly causes jealousy among the feckless and indolent natives.

I attended a wedding years ago in Thailand where a guy from PNG was marrying a Thai gal, my then GF's best friend. Anyways, I spoke to the PNG guy, who appeared to be mixed Chinese but born and raised in PNG. I asked him what it was like there. He said simply, "It's a sh*thole. I'd be outta there if my family didn't have business there..." or words to that effect. Since then, I've never had any desire to go any where near that place.
