Thai ID Card - Valid for?

Featured Replies

How many years is the Thai ID card valid for please?

My TGF is 30 and working in Qatar, hence the question.

Why not ask her?

6 years.

Why not ask her?

The dates have 'worn off' the actual card and as she is in Qatar she wasn't sure. We simply thought this would be quicker than calling home at 1.00 am in the morning but thanks for your insightful reply.

6 years.

Yeah thanks.

Only asked coz it is probably expired by a week now but have since been assured its no problem renewing once back in Thailand.

6 years.

6 years plus up to the day before birthday.

Example: issued 29 Jan 2010, date of expiry 6 Oct 2016

Persons birthday is 7 Oct.

Similar to the driving license where it is 5 years and then up to birthday.

I would have thought that a 30 year old Thai would know because she would have renewed it many times, come on mate, she knows. If she says she can't remember then she's lying.

Yeah thanks.

Again, you've been assured it no problem renewing once in Thailand.

I think you gf is having you on!

9 years from 2011 to 2020 ( my ID)

Cheers Nuna
