Laos Double Entry Visa - how many can I have?

Featured Replies

Hi there, I've already had 1 x single entry tourist visa from Savannaket, and 2 x double entry visas from Vientienne. I would like to get a third double entry from Vientienne soon, is this possible ? I had heard that 3 was the maximum, but not sure if this is from Laos in total, or just max 3 double entries from one consulate. Many thanks, smile.png

There is no numeric limit. As long as a consulate believes that you will use the visa only for the purpose of tourism, ie not to work illegally in Thailand, for example, you should be able to get tourist visas.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

Viantiane is 3 but some people have gotten more.

They normaly don't refuse the visa but will put stamp informing you it is the last one.

Read this thread ....

My guess would be this person got rejected in Vientian

I would suggest you go back to Savannakhet, I have yet to hear of a person getting rejected

when applying for a tourist visa, the number of back to back tourist visas given at Savannakhet

seems to be only limited by the pages in your passport

It actually depends on the officer that you are dealing with on the day that you apply! If he/she got out of the wrong side of the bed or has a incredible hangover or just doesn't like farangs you're in deep sh*t. But you'll never know unless you try and nobody on this forum can tell you for sure!

For little money [my bill was 6 baht per min took 3 mins]

Phone and ask, I told them I have already got 5 back to back doubles, they asked me my nationality and age.. reply no problem, I did put on the application form 'as per phone call' and date of phone call.......... this was at Savannakhet..

I agree. I got turned down for a double last week. I had a double from VTE then a triple from the US and then another VTE Double and the guy was like no way could he give me another. I'm US citizen BTW.

I asked for a single and he reluctantly gave me it to me. He basically just said I should get a Non Imm visa of some sort and was nice about it.

The showing of financial records is an option but not so clear if and what is acceptable.

Going to do the Education language route. I am sure I will not miss the trip every six months and uncertainty. Does raise yearly cost a bit but looking forward to the lack of travel and riff raff, traffic accident potential involved in that trip.

Do People really think it's no problem getting so many tourist visa in a row? I heard before after 6 they start to crack down. And also heard they don't like giving 2 back to back double from Lao or the same office.

It would be good for me if this was not the case. I have 2 back to back single tourist visa from 2012. Went home for 4.5 months. For 2013 have a single followed by a double from Lao that will run out in October. Up until now i thought if i tried going back to Lao for a 2nd double a row i could well have a problem? Anyone?

BTW agree with the last post if you have the time to sort out a Ed visa you should. I keep not planning to stay so long and not doing it but wish i had this time around as will nearly definitively be here for a year or longer straight this time.

ive been staying in Thailand for almost 3 years now. 1 year with student visa and almost 2 years with double entry tourist visa from Laos. Never had any trouble at all. Will get another one in 2 weeks as well. There is no limit for how long you can stay as tourist if you really are a tourist and i am. I dont work or earn any money here i just spend money...
