CHIANG RAI, July 3 - The Thai police arrested three suspected drug dealers at a resort in the northern province of Chiang Rai's Mae Sai district and seized 8.5 kilogrammes of heroin.

Pol Maj Chamnan Ruadrew, Deputy Commissioner of Provincial Police Bureau Region 5, questioned the three Myanmar national drug suspects -- one woman and two men.

They were arrested in a guest room at a resort in Wiang Phang Kham subdistrict.

The three told police that they were members of a drug trafficking network operated by Myanmar narcotics kingpin Yi Say.

They smuggled the contraband drug across the border and evaded X-ray detection at the border crossing checkpoint. The drug shipment was intended to be carried to Malaysia where its street value could exceed Bt60 million. (MCOT online news)

"The three told police that they were members of a drug trafficking network operated by Myanmar narcotics kingpin Yi Say."

I think this was just a mis-transcription from the interrogation room.

Police: "Who was the kingpin?"

Suspect: "It was him."

Police: "Ah...You don't say?"

Suspect: "Ah, yes...Yi Say!"
