I've just been issued with a multiple-entry non-immigrant 'B' visa to work in Thailand (I move out there at beginning of May). I've been told by my employer in Bangkok that it can take a while to get the work permit sorted out, however I need to travel to Singapore for a few days 4 weeks after first entering Thailand. Will this cause me any problems when I leave or re-enter Thailand? Do I need the work permit to validate my visa, or is the visa okay on it's own since it's multiple-entry?

Please could someone explain how this works, as I'm confused! I just want to be clear what the process is now that I have my non-immigrant 'B' visa and what I can or can't do once I arrive in Thailand in May! I don't want to do anything that will invalidate the visa. Thanks.

Since you have a multi-entry visa you can enter and leave the Kingdom as often as you like :o

I don't believe a trip out will affect a work permit application in any way whatever.
