best package forwarding companies from US?

Featured Replies

I know this has been discussed before, but times change, companies change and not always for the better. 'Shipito' used to be the most highly recommended forwarding company on this forum, but I've read a few negative reviews on them lately. Your comments on recent experiences appreciated.......................

or any recommendations for better forwarding companies appreciated...............

thanks in advance

I just had a weird experience with Shipto

My US based mail order pharmacy accidentally shipped a refill to my Shipto California address and once I discovered the mistake I contacted Shipto via their email address to have the package forward to my US address instead of Thailand

First problem was that they made me change my Shipto address, then the only forwarding option was high priced FED EX, and finally they would not send the package until I filled out a US Customs Form for medicine produced in the US. to be shipped to a US address. Didn't do any good to argue with them so I just filled out the Customs form as requested but I sure didn't like their dismissive attitude

Maybe someone else will chime in here for a replacement, since this experience really turned me off to their service

Use the postal service. Do not use companies like Fedex. I did once and never again.

Edit

Mine was from Australia but the Thai end was where the problem.

The purpose of having a re-mailer is because most people here in Thailand do not have a relative or friend in the US that can / will go to the post office and mail parcels for them as well as online mail order companies that will not ship internationally. That is why people use a re-mailer, who do use the US Post office if requested and not FEDEX or UPS

I do have friends and relatives in the US that I have burdened with this chore over the years, but I feel that I have asked them enough and if Shipito or another company can do it for the rates that they advertise, then I want to give it a try. One problem is repaying friends for their outlay in postage charges and I have been sending them amazon gift certificates to compensate them.

Shipito can send a large flat rate international priority flat rate box for just a little over what I would pay. What I wonder is that if Thai customs see that a company sent the package rather than an individual, would that raise any red flags and cost me customs fees?? I've never had to pay customs on the dozens of packages sent to me over the years from friends.

I haven't seen any bad news on Shipito and plan to use them again and again. With Fedex as well. Very happy customer here.

After getting scammed out of USD 4,000 by Viaddress, I now use MyUS and am very happy with them (I live in Cambodia but I am sure they ship to LOS).
