90 Days No Reporting.

Featured Replies

I have a retirement visa and a multiple re-entry permit.

Practically every two or three months, not touching 90 days,

I leave Thailand for home or to other countries.

That means in that whole year, I won't be touching 90 days.

I make sure I leave the latest at 89 days.

Now the big question. Is it true I need not go to Chaeng Wattana

Immigration to do the 90 days reporting.

That means in that one whole year, I need not have to do the

90 days reporting.

Is this correct ?

Thanking you all in advance.

You only do a 90 day report if you stay for 90 consecutive days in Thailand without leaving. When you re-enter Thailand the clock is reset to day 1.

As you never stay longer than 90 days you do not report.

Thank you for your prompt reply.

Much appreciated. Thank you.

rolleyes.gif As Mario2008 said ... nothing wrong with what you're doing ... that's what the exit re-entry permit is for anyhow.

But just be aware, that when you do report or perhaps renew your retirement visa (extension), depending on the experience and understanding of the person who handles your case you might expect some confusion when they don't see any 90 day reports for over a year in your passport or records.

What you're doing is entirely legal and proper .... but just be aware that if you get a "newbie" handling your case there may be some questions.

You may confuse them .... especially a "newbie".

It should be interesting anyhow.

I haven't made a 90 day report in over 6 months for the same reason.

Last time I got a dingle re-entry permit I was lucky enough to get an experienced immigration officer.

As she said ... as long as I showed up in October to do my required annual renewal of my retirement it was no problem.

But she joked then that she just hoped that I didn't get a trainee taking my case .... because she would be the supervisor they sent me to if they were confused.
