July 11, 201313 yr New dslr alert folks... announced last week by Canon, the 60D replacement is looking quite good... The new dual pixel cmos AF sensor should be a winner, especially for filmmakers... 19 cross type AF points.. 7fps shooting (excellent for birding/action).. On sale August/September 1,079 GBP body only
July 11, 201313 yr I have been thinking that this could be my first DSLR camera someday. How does this compare to Canon 5D Mark III which is a bit older technology? That was the recommendation I got from friends on FB when I said that I wished to have a new camera. It sounded great until I saw the Ferrari pricetag...
July 11, 201313 yr Author 70D has a crop frame sensor.. 5D has a full frame sensor. But it's not as clean cut as that when deciding, what appears to be, the hands down winner... it all depends on what you want from a DSLR (not just the size of your wallet..) both have pro's & con's against each other.
July 11, 201313 yr For me, and I think for most of us, who think of moving from pocket-bridge cameras towards DSLR's, there is a big learning curve. Cameras are expensive and therefore it would be great to get it right at the first time. Last time I was looking for a new camera, if I recall correctly, it was your recommendation (with great pictures), which made my mind to get SX50HS. I have been very happy with it's possibilities. I really like the camera, but have already learned that there are many low light moments when it's not worth even to try to take the picture. Larger sensor with more ability to collect light could help. My purchase process will take few months, so I'll hope you'll get the camera and show what it can do
