tourist visa

Featured Replies

Hi to everyone,

What is the best way to stay in Thailand long term as a tourist. How long in one year I can stay with tourist visa?

Thanks for helping me

A Tourist Visa gives 60 days and can be extended by 30 days at Immigration. So a total of 90 days.

A Double Entry will give a total of 180 days.

A Triple Entry will give a total of 270 days.

What about times between entries? and maximum 270 days total in one year? Also do I get those visas in Thailand? Thanks for your time,

You have to exit Thailand and enter another country.

Turn round and enter Thailand again. You only need to leave for one minute.

Tourist Visas are applied for at a Thai Consulate in another Country.

You are unlikely to get a triple entry in Asia.

Onced the Visa has expired you need to apply for another one.

Sorry I am little dumb, Do you mean as long as I go another country after my 90 days tourist visa for in and out, does this visa go on like forever? Is there any time and quantity restriction for entry to Thailand?

Many thanks again

With a double entry you can enter Thailand two times.

With a triple entry you can enter three times.

The visa will have a "must enter by" date printed on it. Basically that is the expiration date of the visa. All entries must be made on or before that date. You can make your last entry on that day and still get 60 days permission to stay which can be extended at immigration even though the visa has expired. The visa is a ticket to enter Thailand and once you are in, how long you can stay is based on the type of visa and the immigration officer's current interpertaion of the regulations.

with back to back to back ........... tourist visas you can stay as long as you like

There is no fixed limit but there is a policy to check for those working illegally in Thailand and make it more difficult to return. This most often appears with 3-5 tourist visas a Consulate will not issue another or warn with stamp that will not issue any more after this last one. But there is no set time per year or number of visas or visa exempt entries.

You should get a triple entry visa in your home country before departing. This visa can give you almost 9 months of stay without getting a new visa. Be sure you do not get the visa until just before you are scheduled to depart because it's validity starts on date of issue.

Once here you have be sure you make the 3rd entry just before the use before date.

After you have used all the time allowed by your last entry you can go to either location in Laos and get a 2 entry visa that would give you about another 6 months.

UbonJoe, how many days would you allow for the issuance of the tourist visa in Laos? I'm thinking of doing this, but I have no idea about Laos. unsure.png
