xen
I buy Chia seed in Oz for my gf and she just calls it Chia Seed . She says she does not know if there is an equivilant Thai word for it. She has another friend who imports and sell Chia seed and they just call it Chia seed too even when speaking Thai. It is new to Thailand so maybe there is nothing in the language for it yet.
rookball
no they are not. mangluck are basil seeds, not chia seeds. very similar yet very difference depending on the reason you are getting them. i.e if you are looking for omega 3, then basil is not a substitution for chia seeds
