I've got an Alpine GPS unit and recently had to replace the in-car charger that plugs into the cigarette lighter.

Ever since when I plug the unit in I get a full sized screen message that says "battery charging" which won't go away no matter which buttons I press.

This now covers the map/menu/everything so I can't see anything apart from this message as it covers the whole screen. This never happened before. I used to just plug the unit in for a journey and be on my merry way. Never had this message before.

I've tried numerous new chargers and with the same result.

Any feedback greatly appreciated.

You may have to get an original Alpine charger as replacement.
