A conversation in the New Wave on Soi 7

On one of my monthly visits back to Bkk found I had a few hours of down time in the afternoon so decided to have a few beers and let the afternoon drift by,

First call was the New Wave around 3pm , actually was the quietest ive ever seen the place , 4 or 5 staff and only half a dozen customers, anyway

I order a beer and sit down across from the pool tables , behind me is the main bar with 3 guys set several stools apart from each other , the guy in the middle starts up a conversation with the chap to his left by asking if the guy lived here , his reply to this was positive , he then enquired for how long ? 3 years around .. and before he could continue he chirps up 9 years me you need to know anything ??? Guy doesnt reply but he continues about what the other guy missed for the 6 years he was here before him and went on for at least ten minutes without the other person saying a word ! in the end the "newbie" just ordered his bin and politely waited for it to arrive and said thanks nice to talk and left . So the guy now in full swing turns to the chap to his right and continues from where he left of with the other guy.

At this point his new "friend' asked how long did you say you have lived here ? 9 years he says , you ?

27 years he replies . really ,? ( and with a raised voice he replied )Yes now f**&^ off and go find a tourist to bullsh@@ !

Must admit i nearly choked on my beer with laughing :)

And the point if the post is?

Just thought maybe it would put a smile on a face or two.

And pretty sure a few guys would relate to the story.

Is that ok oh great one.?.

i just refuse to go there (that conversation in particular but also new wave in general).

it is a pointless topic for discussion.

if a thai (in service) asks me i lie and say 2 or 3 years.

but i generally don't get into a position where it comes up.

i may adopt that approach if cornered though.

Haha great story. I really don't know why people choose to fabricate these things. I think it's a sign of being able to spot the crazy ones.
