Someone has experience on setting up a stall in the night market?

Featured Replies

Sometimes I find some expats are opening a stand in the sunday or saturday market. How can they do that in the legal way? Is there any admission fee for them?

They pay rent for the space.

They pay rent for the space.

How much will be cost? Where's the administration center? For non-imm expats is ok?

As usual get your thai friend and or gf to ask..dont show your face, price goes higher

Seems strange.Can they operate legally?

Sure they can operate legally.

It will be in their g/f or wifes name .

Ya never heard it from me. But if ya have A thai friend helping ya can do quite A bit.Don't tell anyone I told ya this LOL.

So if the stall/ business is in a Thai wifes/ girlfriend/ friend name and the foreigner is standing there selling the goods he is legally operating?

No permits required?

Or are we simply talking of a foreigner funding the enterprise operated by the Thai and taking a share of the profit/ loss? Would even that be legal without relevant permits?

Have helped unpack and pack up again for several months in late 2011 through peak season for sister in law. Never approached by anyone and by no means the only farang "helping". Did not sell or talk with any customers at all. As far as getting the stall itself sister in law got it purely by word of mouth. At the time cost of stall was 32000 baht (including goods) and rent was 3000 baht per month (obvioulsy will vary by location). The governing body as it were had little do with it as far as I saw though could be wrong, one individual sold to another individual and second individual commenced paying rent. I understand that it is a differnt set up for Saturday and Sunday walking streets.
