Overdue visa run

Visa run due 12th Aug. Flying to UK for holiday 17th Aug. Will i be able to pay the overstay fine on departure and how much will it be.

5 days overstay, each day thb 500.-, so total thb 2,500.-.

You pay once you pass Thai Immigration.

Or stay completely legal and get a 7 day "extension" at immirgation for 1,900 baht.

Yes, but the 12th is a holiday so you should be fine on the 13th. But I would go a few days early on the 9th. As the 13th will be bussy.

Always like to add that it is not the overstay fine that is so much of a problem (although one should never be here illegally). If you are for any reason asked to produce your passport (in an accident, police check stop, just by random coincidence) you will be detained if your current visa/exemption has expired. This is not a pleasant experience.
