taxexile
yesterday , my wife woke up in severe pain , couldnt turn her head , pain down her back and lots of muscle stiffness. she thought had over exerted herself in the gym the day before after a long break from gym workouts. but worried about the neck stiffness , we thought a hospital visit would be in order. rather than go to the local san paulo hospital here in hua hin , about which we have heard so many bad reports , we drove to the petcharat hospital , not far from the big C supermarket near phetburi. (its the second hospital past big C , going north from hua hin , about a 30 minute drive from h-h.) she was seen within 15 minutes by an orthopedic surgeon , 10 minutes later she was x - rayed , (no bone damage to the vertebrae of the neck) , and the stiffness and pain was put down to a torn or stretched muscle or ligament. she was sent up immediately for an hours heat treatment and gentle massage in the physio dept. and given a whole bunch of painkillers and muscle relaxants. very helpful and friendly staff , total bill 1750b. quite a few foriegners getting treatment there. lots of english spoken , recommended. egeefay
Just curious but I've read several other not so flattering postings regarding San Paulo Hospital and wonder why Hua Hin doesn't have a better hospital. There seems to be a large western community in Hua Hin and Hua Hin is so well known. You think that they would have a world class hospital there...at least as good as petcharat hospital in Petchburi With the growing retirement age population moving to Thailand, a good hospital is one of the first things on their list
PETERTHEEATER
It's approximately 65 kms from the centre of Hua Hin to the centre of Phetchaburi. The speed limit is 90kms per hour; traffic can be heavy dependent on day and time so I should allow at least 50 minutes for the trip. But, in an emergency you do what you have to do. rather than go to the local san paulo hospital here in hua hin , about which we have heard so many bad reports , we drove to the petcharat hospital , not far from the big C supermarket near phetburi.
