where can CHINESE national get a Thai visa without going back China? Laos?Cambodia?Burma?

Featured Replies

I am a CHINESE national and I would like to get a 30,60 or 90 days visa(not for work) without going back to China.

Now I am in Thai and will extend my visa after 60 days. After that I hope I can get an visa (at least 30 days) from the nearby countries.

There are conflicting reports about whether the Thai embassy/consulates in Laos, Cambodia or Burma will issue Thai visa to Chinese nationals.

Have any other Chinese nationals recently tried this?

Can you tell my if it worked or if you were refused?

Thanks guys. Jing

That's a good question. I am not aware that consulates in neighboring countries wouldn't issue you with a new Thai visa. Where did you hear that from? The only thing I have read on this forum is that Vietnamese nationals can't get Thai visas in Laos or Cambodia, but that's because of the large number of potential applicants from Vietnam living or transiting those two countries, which they can enter easily. However, I don't see any reason why that would apply to Chinese nationals.

Unless anyone else knows something, I'd say go ahead and try. In particular, Myanmar (Burma) wouldn't turn you town but I also don't have any reason to believe why you wouldn't be able to apply in those other two countries.

You will have to return to China for your visa. China is one of many countries whose citizens can not obtain a visa anywhere other than their home country.

I hear this from one Chinese forum about travelling from Cambodia to Thai. Seems like Thai Embassy in Cambodia don't like to issue a visa to a Chinese tourist , unless you are in a big group.......
