PATTAYA:--In accordance with orders from the National Police Commissioner, Police General Adul, Pattaya Police were ordered to set-up a checkpoint on the Sukhumvit Road in South Pattaya on Sunday Morning to prevent large groups of protesters travelling to Bangkok for the anti-government rally and to check smaller groups to ensure they were not taking any illegal weapons with them.

The Government is controversially using the Internal Security Act (ISA) in some districts in Bangkok over the coming days. The ISA gives the government greater powers to arrest protesters,

And we still have the military junta to thank for that gem. (The ISA). They cooked it up in 2007 after committing a military coup. Along with a constitution that you can barely call democratic.

Let's see - a democratically elected government using the police to supress free speech and peoples' constitutional right to protest. Didn't PTP do the same last time someone wanted to protest against their policies and actions?

Of course, supporters of the government can openly travel in large groups and intimidate judges etc without hinderance from the police. The same police who avoided doing their duty in 2010.

It's always amazing how the dictators and wannabee dictators are so frightend of even the smallest protests.
