I'd like to learn to read and write Thai while at the same time using that to better learn to speak Thai.

Can anyone recommend a dvd/cd/website with examples of the alphabet along with basic grammar and very important also pronounciation and examples of the sounds of each letter?

Try the free Anki flashcard program. There is some content in Thai with sound.

What about any Android apps doing the same thing ?

If by any chance you have an iPhone or better an iPad (for the size of charater) a few very good Apps on Apstore with exellent audio by Thai speakers
