Penang new non-immy 'O' visa

Featured Replies

I am from the UK.

I have been getting my retirement visa for quite some years now. Last year I put the 800,000 baht in a kasikorn account for 12 months. I found out today that the immigration will not accept this account as it is a fixed investment account and cannot be touched until November. My pension is not enough. So I have to go to Penang for a non-immy 'O' visa. Help please, what do I need to take to Penang, and are there forms to download, TM7 etc is not correct for new visa, only for the annual extension, which they will not give me!!! Also for how long can I get the visa?

Thanks

Do you really have a cash fixed deposit or is it a market/bond/stock type thing? Fixed deposits can be withdrawn at any time with only loss of interest and normally are accepted by immigration.

You are aware you can use less than 800k in bank if combining with income - only has to meet 800k for a year total combined - so if you have another account and the 800k is really not accepted you might be able to get anyhow. Normally bank deposit when combined with pension/embassy letter does not have to be in account 3 months either.

You are not likely to get more than a single entry non immigrant O visa and would use the local visa application form (which most people fill out from an agent at hotel or travel office).
