I've searched for the last hour for the answer to my question but have had no luck. Even the Immigration website doesn't help me. So here goes!!

I have an ED visa from a Thai language school which expires on 16th August this year. I have all the paperwork from Ramkhamhaeng University in order to apply for a new ED visa at immigration next week. They gave me a couple of letters stating that I'm a student there and some other bits of paperwork all signed and stamped as expected. However, which application form for the new visa must I fill out? Either TM86 (application for change of visa) or TM87 (application for visa). I just don't want to turn up with the wrong one!!

Could someone also please tell me what other documents I need to show to the immigration official when applying for the new visa, please? Again, not a real concrete answer could be found on their website as some of the links didn't even open

I'm guessing a few photos, possibly 1900/2000 baht and some photocopies-- please could someone tell me what exactly I must present?

I'm sure this must have been asked and answered before but I've had no luck finding it on here or anywhere for that matter! I would ask the university but I don't have class until after the 16th so it'd be too late to get together the required copies etc!

You will not be applying for a visa at your local immigration office but for an extension of stay for the reason of studying, and for this application you will use the form TM.7 which you can view and download here:
