Motorcyclist killed after collision with 18-wheel truck in East Pattaya

PATTAYA:--Police and rescue services were called to the Maprachan Reservoir in East Pattaya, early on Saturday Morning, following reports of a fatal road accident involving a motorbike and an 18-wheel truck with trailer.

The dead man could not be named as he was carrying no identification papers with him. He is thought to be in his mid-thirties.

The truck driver, Khun Wassan aged 26, remained at the scene and told Police he was on his way to pick-up a consignment of rocks from a Quarry, and as he negotiated the road circling the Maprachan Reservoir, he was unable to avoid a head-on collision with the motorbike which, he claims, had crossed over into the opposing lane.
