Yeah sure this will do loads for promotion prospects.

Personally i would take him out for some local street grub and then judge what type of bloke he is. He might even suggest that you goto nana or patpong. But i certainly wouldnt offer to take him there without prompting

Ask him what he wants to do - seriously. Does he want to see the world famous nightlife areas? Because apart from there nothing that interesting that you can do at any other city. (restaurant/pubs)

Whatever you do, just don't start with Soi Cowboy or Nana without properly "testing" him and warning him, see what's his type and try to begin the visit with the cultural temples, the temples, the rivers, a very high class hotel and a good restaurant should be another good ideea for a start, at least it could buy you the time to establish a profile without making him feel questioned Good luck!!!
