I have used 7by7's sponsors letter template and just changed it a little, do you think that this letter is OK or should it have more added to it?

Dear Sir/Madam,

Re: visa application for Mrs sss passport number sss

My wife and myself are sponsoring the visit of the above named to the UK, who is my wife’s mother she has not seen her mother since 26th September 2012. I would like to expand upon and clarify some of the answers given on her visa application form, and present some additional information in support of her application.

Firstly to introduce my family and myself.

Mr ssss

30 sss

We live in a two bedroom bungalow, which we rent from Mr sss. Mrs sss will be staying with us at this address, sharing a bedroom with her nephew, who is 2 years old.

Our plan is for Mrs sss to arrive in the UK on 17/12/13 and stay with us until 14/01/14

I would also like to declare that I have sponsored my wife with a family visit visa and then for her settlement visa both of which where granted.

As Mrs sss cannot read or write English I have filled in the visa application form for her, and the answers to some questions need expanding upon or clarification, which I will do here.

Part 5 Employment:

Mrs sss has no full time employment, but does provide a washing and ironing service to the people in the area that she resides. This gives her an income of approximately 6000 baht per month.

Mrs sss resides with her daughter and her daughter’s husband so does not have to pay any rent, however Mrs sss does contribute towards the utility bills and pays for her own food which amounts to 3000 baht per month. Mrs Dongporn Konboon also receives 2000 baht per month from the 10 percent share that she owns in her daughter’s and her daughter’s husbands company.

I will be paying for Mrs sss airfare and (my wife) and I will provide accommodation and food free of charge.

I will provide Mrs sss with £400 spending money and adequate health insurance for her period in the UK.

In support of the application we enclose the following documents: -

Photocopy Thai ID card, Mrs sss

Photocopy of (my wife’s) Thai passport.

Photocopy of (my) British passport showing entries to and exits from Thailand.

Bank Savings statement, (my wife’s) showing available funds

Share certificate.

House rental Contract

Thank you for considering this application. If there is any other information you need in order to make your decision please contact either Mrs sss or myself.

Yours faithfully,

Seems ok to me, but a couple of points.

Sharing with the two year old boy should not be a problem; but you refer to him as your mother-in-law's nephew. Is that right? If so, it may be an idea to say why he lives with you and not his parents.

I would also include, if possible, a letter from your landlord confirming that she can stay there and that the accommodation is suitabl;e. Not vital, but could allay any doubts the ECO may have.

Thank you for the comments my mistake it should have been, she will sharing with her grand son.

I have tried to get a letter from my landlord but unfortunately he is away for the next 6 weeks.

You might consider giving this a re-write. Some of the pronouns are a little confusing. I'm not playing Grammar Police, but really think it's a bit confusing or the statement could be improved a little.

Maybe: "My wife and I ...

"are sponsoring the visit of the Mrs. ssss ..."

" ... who is my wife's mother. My wife has not seen her mother ..."
