It’s here. This morning the drivers, racecars and teams contesting the inaugural Thailand Super Series will spring into official action at Bira Circuit as Race 3 & 4 of the season – the first on home soil - comes to vivid life. And it’s promising to be one of the most significant milestones in the long and diversified history of Thai motorsport.

That’s a big statement to make. But Thailand Super Series is ushering in the ‘new era’ of Thai motorsports, taking circuit racing up to a new level. It’s already happening and now this weekend at Bira Circuit, the longtime ‘home’ of racing here, the championship will play out its second round of the season in front of what is expected to be a massive home crowd and with an even bigger number of viewers watching the action unfolding live on TV.

I'm always struggling to understand why Bira is not better promoted in the Pattaya area. So close, cheap, and a great Sunday out, but actually relatively few spectators. I know it's backed by big money and influence that doesn't care about the income, but even so, must be more interesting racing with a lot of spectators.
