Tuk tuk tours in town

Featured Replies

Anybody know which hotel/company it is running the tuk tuk tours in the moat area? The guests are predominently Chinese. Just wondering if its a hotel or a private tour company..

Aren't tuk-tuk tours usually done as individual tuk-tuks? I mean, I haven't heard of tuk-tuk tours by companies, as if that is some interesting way to get around, as compared to a rickshaw tour in Beijing or something like that?

If one wants a tour by tuk-tuk, you just find a tuk-tuk and negotiate with them and make the plan. IF you DID do it, through some company/hotel, you would only be adding on a layer of cost (probably commission to whomever you decided to ask about this, like a receptionist) and not getting anything of value for that.

You might want to ask people on here, if they have a decent tuk-tuk driver they know/sort of trust ...and arrange from there? I think it is doubtful you could find a Chinese speaker, if that is needed? I really only know one these days and he mostly can't speak English, (only Thai) and his tuk-tuk is a total wreck and he dresses like a total bum ..so probably not what you want.

Just go to TP gate and ask around?

I think he is referring to the recent "fad" of 10 to 20 tuk-tuks shuttling around 50 or so tourists at a time... See the daily in the old city

Oh, did I just "lose face"?? I guess I haven't been out and about enough to know about these things. It sounds like they are like "rickshaw" tours through old Beijing ...maybe those are now "Tesla tours down the Beijing highways" ??

Sorry to have given out bad/outdated info ..I need to get out more!!

I think they have being running these tours for the Chinese for a few years.they have a police guard and take many pictures.20 tuk tuks are in a row.causing traffic jams along the way.most people who see this think how strange or silly

Just to be clear, im not looking to take part in one of these tours, just looking to find out who it is running them.

Seen them a few times this week alone. 20-30 tuk tuks in a convoy.

Probably organised by a hotel?

Unless they take the top off the tuk tuk you won't see a lot.sad.png
