PATTAYA:--On Friday afternoon Police were called to the front of Central Festival Pattaya Beach on Pattaya Second Road, to arrest a 35 year old man accused of stealing a gold necklace from a Chinese Tourist.

Members of the public had assisted in detaining the suspect, Khun Tewet, who works as an electrician and a part-time motorbike taxi driver stationed on Pattaya Third Road.

Mrs. Zhu Xingfen aged 36 was on holiday in Pattaya alone and is due to fly back to China on Saturday. She was doing some last-minute shopping at Mike Shopping Mall and took a Baht Bus along Pattaya Second Road to Central Festival Pattaya Beach. As she climbed down from the Baht Bus, the suspect drove up beside her and snatched her gold necklace with amulet.

Mrs. Xingfen was able to push the suspect off his bike which allowed others time to run-in and detain the suspect pending the arrival of Police.
