Hi, I've been in thailand for the last 2 and a half years with my girlfriend, I am 23, she is 24.

For me to get better career options I need to stay in england to work or study in the uk.

We are not married, is this of great importance ?

My questions are which visa's would be possible to bring her over on ? Any suggestions

Also what are the requirements of each ? As I have 3 possible options when I the uk, 1. I study

2. I act as carer for my grandmother , 3. I find a job within the uk

I was born in the uk

Well, do you have any money? whistling.gif

You "might" be able to get an unmarried partner's visa.

Bit pushed for time at the moment so can't give you a proper answer...

I assume that your intention is for her to live with you in the UK.

To qualify as your unmarried partner you and she will need to show that you have been living together in a relationship akin to marriage for at least the two years prior to applying.

Do you have evidence, phone bills, letters etc. covering the whole two years, to show that you are both living at the same address and have been for the required time?

If not, forget about an unmarried partner's visa.

Your other options are a fiancée visa or a spouse visa.

A fiancée visa is valid for 6 months and during that time she travels to the UK, marries you and then applies to remain in the UK as your wife.

For a spouse visa you marry in Thailand and she applies as your wife.

I'd recommend the latter as with a fiancé visa she will have to make, and pay for, an extra application in the UK.

Can you meet the financial requirement?

Unless you have substantial savings, you will need to have been earning at least £18,600 p.a. for at least the last 6 months while in Thailand and have a firm job offer to start in the UK with at least the same salary.

I suggest that you read UK Settlement Visa Basics and then come back with any further questions you may have.
