A friend informs me that he was refused a new tourist visa in Laos last week.

The official said the new policy is, that anyone with more than three such visas

in their passport, could not have another!

He therefore came back on a one month stamp.

Has anyone else had this experience?

This just happened to me. I went to the embassy today and they refused me a new visa. I also have 3 old tourist-visas in my passport. One was from 2004 and the other two was issued in october last year and January this year.

At the embassy today they told me that I must now bring a guarantee-paper that shows that I have 800.000 baht in a thai bank account.

So I guess I must now open a bank acccount here and transfer the money in order to get a new visa.

Does anyone know if there is another limit even if I have an account with funds?

Where can I find information about this?
