Furniture shopping in Bangkok

Featured Replies

Hi all

Does anyone know of a good second hand furniture shop/warehouse in Bangkok? Ideally clearing ex-hotel stock. We are renting and looking to replace the furniture but are only here for a year so thought a clearance store would be good option.

Alternatively any advice on the best place to find decent quality furniture in Bangkok would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

You can have furniture made to your specifications for a fraction of the price of the sort of items you would find in most retail places. Head down to the port area and look for all of the shops situated along At Narong Road. They have cataloges of pictures that will give you an example of the kind of things they have done previously. A picture or a sketch is enough to get the ball rolling. Serious haggling about the price really isn't an issue, as they usually quote a fair fee for the work they do. I have always found their craftsmanship and quality to be above average. Best of all, you get a piece of furniture that you actually want rather than settling for something that is okay, but not exactly what you want it to be. It is worth visiting these guys and asking them to produce whatever it is that you are after. If

you do go, please report back. I'd like to hear some more experiences of foreign customers here, as there aren't too many. Thuss far, I haven't heard a single complaint.

Further directions needed please! No Narong Road to be found in Google Maps near the port.
