Non-imm "O" volunteer visa multiple entry available in Vientiane?

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me if non-imm O visas for voluntary work with multiple entries are issued at the Thai Consulate in Vientiane?!

I'm reading all sorts of mixed reports!

Thank you!

You can not get a multiple entry visa at any nearby embassy or consulate.

You could get a single entry and apply for a extension at immigration.

One more question:

Can I extend my current non-imm O single entry visa at immigration?! Getting mixed reports about that one too!

Not unless you have a valid reason for extension such as marriage/child/retirement/NGO work permit - the most you could get without would be a disapproval and 7 days to leave.

I work for an NGO and have all paperwork for that. Could I extend for 30days? Thank you so much for your help. My brain is about to explode trying to work it all out!

You might have the "NGO paperwork" but do you have a work permit ?

Ah ha! The missing link. Not at this stage. New visa it is then!

Not unless you are on a 60 day tourist visa entry.

You could go out and get a single entry O visa to get more time.

To legally work you need a work permit. NGO needs to take care of that.

Be aware that working even if for an NGO is illegal without a Work Permit.

It is the responsibility of the "NGO" to facilitate your legal status in Thailand.

Insist that the NGO meets its obligations.
